Kim Kardashian joins American Horror Story season 12, responses are mixed: We did not request this.

The 42-year-old reality star teased her involvement in the show to her 352 million Instagram followers, which was co-created by Emmy Award-winning director Ryan Murphy.

She will co-star with Scream Queens actress Emma Roberts in the 12th season of the horror anthology series.

The lines "Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are delicate" were set against a mournful cover of Rock-a-bye Baby in a short video.

Murphy revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the character was designed "especially for Kim."

He called the role "fun, stylish, and ultimately terrifying" for a season "unlike anything we've ever done."

Kardashian has dominated reality television, featuring in many seasons of her own family-based shows Keeping Up With The Kardashians and, more recently, The Kardashians, which the family debuted last year with streaming provider Hulu.

In 2021, she will also host the popular US comedy show Saturday Night Live, the success of which, according to reports, impressed Murphy.
